Neighbors for Clean Air works to ensure that every Oregonian has clean and healthy air to breathe.

Neighbors of Clean Air was initially founded in 2009 by parents and neighbors in Portland Oregon to advocate for cleaner air in Northwest Portland after reading USA Today’s story “The Smokestack Effect.” USA Today investigated the impacts of industrial sources of hazardous air pollutants on schools. It was based on a study, conducted by researchers and scientists from University of Massachusetts

Diesel fueled engines may keep goods moving, but their diesel exhaust leaves a lasting mark - diesel particulate matter (DPM).

Diesel particulate matter from these engines is a toxic mix of soot and chemicals that raises the risk of asthma, heart disease, and cancer, and is one of the leading causes of air pollution related health problems.

Reducing DPM emissions from diesel engines is critical for protecting public health and creating cleaner air for our communities. Say no to !

This week, Neighbors for Clean Air is going global 🌎

We’re excited to be in Gothenburg, Sweden alongside our partners at Idle Giants, joining air quality advocates from around the world to push back against diesel pollution.

As the home of Volvo, Europe’s leading truck manufacturer, Gothenburg is a powerful place to call for real change in transforming the future of freight.

Together, we’re standing up for clean air for all.
