Getting to Hawaii is not easy! Decisions on direction change every day, and for a solo rower, the best way to approach this is to have a weather router on land who can help oversee it all.

June 14th, not 15th 😅
1,184 miles down. Approximately 1,169 to go. A lot of things had to go right to get to this point, and that deserves a little celebration.
Closer to Hawaii than to California!

Ho radio’d in because he saw how slow Lily was moving on AIS, and was concerned it was a vessel in distress.
These are just a few snippets of a conversation with the chief officer of the cargo ship Turtle Island, over 10 miles apart!
If a boat is moving slow enough, barnacles have an opportunity have an opportunity to latch on. This can create resistance rowing, and slow down the boat even further. Low wind an current is the perfect opportunity to get in, inspect, and remove any barnacles if found.

Conditions are expected to stay like this for the next few days. Low wind and unfavorable currents can feel like rowing through molasses. Everything feels slow and heavy.

Kelsey was able to pack 90 days worth of food on a small boat because of how intentional she was about her meals and snacks. The puzzle is finding foods that are high in calories and nutrients, but small in size for maximum impact.
