My mom told me on the phone today that I needed to “sing through it”… 🥹… very meaningful words coming from her

The other day I was going through my memory bank of music and ran across this gem of a song. It’s called “Young, Sad and Blue” (quite appropriate for this moment) by an artist named Lysette and this was the only song she put out at the time (like back in 97/98🫠) … I use to listen to this song on the deepest of repeats, wish we got a full album from her … … when I heard it again the other day, I got really emotional about how the sonics made me feel and it’s been in my head ever since, just like back then … so I’m singing my jazzy way through it 💙

Was feeling a bit down this morning … and suddenly I heard in my ear … and I just started to kinda sing/chant this message and it hit me a bit harder in the chest …. So wanted to share ….

If you’re feeling sh*tty out there today …. It’s ok, but you gotta get up … you gotta try again, you gotta find a smile or find something to push you forward… so sing this little mantra to yourself … it acknowledges the feelings while also offering a solution to choose your own power and get up !
