Interesting article about how Tigard is working to refine its vision for how the Washington Square Regional Center/area will look in the future...
It's an 827 acre site that includes not only the shopping mall, which is technically in Tigard, but the surrounding area as well, including parts of Beaverton and unincorporated Washington county.
Here's a quote that summarizes the article well: "Our goal here is to facilitate more housing, transportation and business/employment options in a way that are consistent with Tigard's strategic plan to be walkable, healthy and inclusive." Susan Shanks, a senior Tigard planner, told the Tigard City Council during a Jan. 26 work session.

SW Corridor MAX Line (was to stretch 11 miles between DT PDX and Bridgeport Village, which would have included 7 light rail stations; 1 in Portland, 5 in Tigard and 1 in Tualatin) has been rejected.
This was a $5.2 billion (yes with a B) regional transportation ballot measure.

Im curious, what does everyone think? Is this a project you agree with?
Does PDX need more public transportation options? And where?
