Pocket Messiah - Portland Baroque Orchestra 12/18/2020

Even a global pandemic won’t stop Portland Baroque Orchestra's annual Messiah! This year, as part of their all-digital season, Great Arts. Period is excited to present a pandemic-friendly, pocket-sized Messiah, featuring arias and instrumental selections performed by a Pacific Northwest cast. Join us this Sunday, December 20th at 3pm Pacific to experience Pocket Messiah - FREE Virtual Performance on on Great Arts. Period.'s YouTube channel, and at PBO.org/Messiah… ALL FOR FREE!

Performing arias and highlights, Northwest-based soloists – soprano Arwen Myers, mezzo soprano Hannah Penn, tenor Zach Finkelstein, and bass-baritone Daniel Mobbs – are joined by superstar organist Jonathan Oddie and a string quartet led by PBO's artistic director Monica Huggett in this holiday favorite. Their pared-down pocket version is full of moments of unembellished beauty from the opening Sinfonia to the impassioned notes of I Know That My Redeemer Liveth.

Once the video has premiered at 3pm Pacific this Sunday, you can watch it again and again on YouTube. The video will be available for at least 24 months.
