“First meal in Japan — finally indulging in the fatty tuna and yakitori I’d been dreaming about.

I attended a wonderful reception today celebrating the sister-state/city relationship between Portland and Toyama Prefecture!
We were treated to an amazing selection of Toyama's specialties, including their famous rice, Himi Udon noodles, firefly squid (hotaru-ika), and local sake. What a great night of cultural exchange!

I went to a maze-soba restaurant called “Chops” in Shibuya, and it was delicious!!
If you ever visit Japan, you should definitely check it out😆

Had some amazing chicken skin skewers at a famous spot in Hakata! Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside—definitely a must-try!

I went to try an afternoon tea in Ginza, Japan. They were having a strawberry fair, and everything was absolutely delicious. The tea had a wonderful aroma, making the experience truly delightful! 🍓☕✨
