I had a great meeting with their Executive Director today talking about possible points of connectivity in the Lakewood WA area.

Our last Student Trip of the year was a City Serve which had students from the Jesuit H.S. partner with CityTeam Portland to help with their Love Your Neighbor Event. (LYN)

The morning started with students on a walk about distributing Coffee & Doughnuts to our neighbors on the street and inviting them to the event.

LYN is a block party held once a month by City Team with a hot meal, hair cuts, clothing distribution, foot care and more. The students help set up, clean up and run stations.

They also got to hear a lot of testimonies from guys in the program, learn about City Teams approach and help set up their emergency shelter for that evening.

The students ended with a litter clean up of the area ensuring that City Team remains in good relations with their neighbors.

Common Good Tacoma

A few photos from this past weekend Student Service and Immersion Trip. Students cleaned and organized and sorted donations where stage for Night Strike.

We were able to get to some tasks that have been years in the discussion... Many hands make Light work, and often 8nclude laughter and joy in service.

We have started another Student Service here in Portland!

This is a Presbyterian group from the greater Seattle area and will be serving our city for 3 days!

Learning Generosity, compassion, empathy, and camaraderie.

Vermon Hills UMC joined us under the Burnside Bridge this week at Nightstrike, a weekly evwnt deaigned to create community and distribute resources with our neighbor's experienceing houselessness.

Weekend of Compassion:

We started out our three day Student Utban Service and Immersion Trip serving alongside the amazing people at Night Strike.

We have twenty students from Calvary Chaple Salem with us growing in compassion and service while learning tonlove with dignity.
