July Recap: Your Body Is Talking. Are You Listening?
This month, our clinics leaned into what "mid-year check-in" really means — celebrating wins, catching up on the stuff we'd been putting off, and reminding our patients (and ourselves) that taking care of your body isn't a once-a-year resolution. 💪
Next up... August is the bridge. Fall doesn't wait. đź‘€ You'll want to be ready for what's coming.
Recovery sandals: worth the hype, or just comfy foam? 👟
You’ve seen them everywhere post-run or post-workout. But do recovery sandals actually speed up recovery, or is it more about how good they feel?
Our own Kelly Reed, PT, dug into the research (and shares her honest take as a self-proclaimed “barefoot gal” who now owns 4 pairs).
Spoiler: the science is murkier than the marketing.

Did you know hula hooping is a legitimate core and cardio workout? 🎯 Your 10-year-old self was ahead of the curve.
This nostalgic summer activity is secretly one of the best low-impact workout ideas out there. Keeping that hoop up requires real core strength, steady posture, and constant balance — the same things our PTs help patients build every day.
Bonus: that side-to-side and front-to-back movement is great for improving stability and decreasing fall risk long-term.
So next time you're at a BBQ or the park, don't sleep on the hula hoop. It's fun summer exercise that doubles as functional fitness. 🌞
Try it this week — save this post and challenge a friend to a hula hoop showdown! 🙌

Myth: "It's not that bad yet — I'll deal with it later." 🚩
Sound familiar? We hear this ALL the time — and here's why that thinking actually costs you more in the long run.
That nagging ache from your Fourth of July basketball game? The shoulder tweak from lugging the cooler to the lake? "Later" has a way of turning into "still bothering me in October."
Here's the truth: research shows patients who start physical therapy within 0-2 days of an injury see significantly faster recovery than those who wait two or more weeks. Early PT isn't just about feeling better sooner — it's about preventing compensation patterns, stiffness, and chronic issues from setting in while you wait it out.
So how do you know when it's time to see a PT? If pain is:
✔️ Lingering more than a few days
✔️ Limiting your movement or workouts
✔️ Getting worse instead of better
..it's time to stop "waiting to see."
Don't wait until fall to address what's been bugging you all summer. Book your visit today. 🗓️
