WE NEED VOLUNTEERS!
Hello folks that time of year is coming up again where we are having Handmade Pride! We are a small team here at RAC and we want to give you the best event we possibly can. BUT this means we are in need of some extra help from you wonderful people.
PEACEKEEPING VOLUNTEERS! You will help us keep the peace. There are many instances in which there is a conflict that does not need to escalate so thats where you come in. You will be trained to handle those tuff situations if they were to happen.
The de-escalation trainings by will be TOMORROW MAY 26TH 5pm-6:30pm IN PERSON at 15 Casco St in Portland
Or
MAY 28TH 5:30pm-7pm Virtually.

OTHER VOLUNTEERS! Yippie! You will help us do "little things" that make a BIG difference. We need help with some loading and unloading, watching the info table, kid's art table, etc. Etc. Sign up for our volunteer email list at the link in our bio.

Join Liza ( ) for an afternoon of printing objects and stamps on paper and fabric, on May 31st, 4-6pm, at Double House Arts (122 Spring St, Portland)
This experimental printmaking workshop focuses on creating art through found objects and lino block carving. Participants will use a variety of textures—from everyday materials to hand-carved designs—to produce layered, repeatable prints on paper and fabric. The workshop is beginner-friendly and encourages creativity, exploration, and personal expression. This workshop is pay what you can with a sliding scale of $15-$50 per person. Notaflof! Join us for Q***r Craft Club at - 122 Spring St, Portland on Thursday, May 28th, 5-7pm! Bring your own project or try ours! Due to our regular facilitator being out sick last month, we will have the eagerly awaited drop spindle and wool roving this month if you would like to try spinning yarn.

Join Emily O’Brien of for a mindful afternoon of crystal tree making, May 24th, 2-4pm in Biddeford! Participants will receive all materials and hands-on guidance to create a small crystal tree to bring home. Emily will share insight into the healing properties of the crystals and how they can support balance, calm, and positive energy in your space. These pieces make thoughtful gifts or meaningful additions to any home or office, created with care and intention. This 2 hour workshop is beginner friendly.
This workshop is pay what you can with a sliding scale of $20-$50 per person - no one turned away for lack of funds.

Handmade Pride, Market & Festival, will be Saturday, June 20th, 2026, 3 - 7pm (Rain date June 27th) in Mill Creek Park, South Portland, ME!
Same as last year: There will be q***r artists, performers, musicians, organizations, kid-friendly crafts, and more! All entertainment stage performances will be ASL interpreted. All tables will be accessible by wheelchair. There will be no corporate tables, AI art, drugs or alcohol, or requested law enforcement presence.

Join us for Rainbow Yoga with Lu: q***r and allied yoga at the Downtown Portland Public Library! This month yoga will be on May 13th, 4-5:30pm! Reserve your spot at linktr.ee/rainbowartscollective
Join us for light movement with room for variations with a guided meditation at the end, May 13th, at 4pm! Attendees will want to bring a yoga mat, towel or blanket since this workshop will be at a community space rather than a studio. This workshop will be taught by Lu Suarez (). This workshop is free with the help of the New England Grass Roots Grow Grant!
Rainbow Arts Collective is now a 501(c)3 tax exempt nonprofit and we welcome donations to support future programming. Our programs have the focus of promoting q***r and other marginalized teachers and fostering a safe environment for q***r and allied attendees.

Exciting announcement! Join us for a community fundraiser night at Brickyard Hollow in Portland! On May 12th from 5-9pm, 5% of sales will go to Rainbow Arts to support our inclusive arts programming!
