Hari! Hari!

Excited to start hosting MANTRA MONDAYS every Monday eve at 7 starting on the 20th!

We’ll start with a short 15 minute discussion on Bhagavad-Gita and other sacred Vedic texts, followed by an hour-or-so of kirtan (meditational call-and-response chanting with instruments) and then enjoy a vegan potluck 🙏

This is not just for Krishna folks. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to participate!

Bring an instrument! Bring a friend! Bring some food! (I just ask that if you bring a food offering, please make sure it’s vegan, so everyone can eat it, and sattvic - no onions or garlic - and can feed 20ish people).

Blackthorn Mercantile is located at:

3954 N. Williams Ave.

Please enter through the side gate or come early and peruse the store while they’re open for some thoughtful holiday gifts, incense, home goods, etc.

In service,
Govardhana das 🙏

WEEKLY KIRTAN UPDATE!

Hare Krishna y’all 🙏
Just wanted to give a quick update on the kirtans starting in November.

I’ve decided to switch venues. The ballroom I was planning on renting doesn’t have any accessibility for disabled people or older folks with bad knees (and I’m quickly becoming one of ‘em). Super steep stairs (say that 3x quickly) and no elevator.

I believe kirtan should be accessible to everyone!

So we’ll be holding weekly kirtan in the auditorium space Blackthorn Mercantile on N. Williams. This is my wife’s shop and it’s a great space.

I’ll be visiting my gurumata’s ashram in Miami mid-November, so it may have to wait until the 3rd week or so in November, or we can potentially bust out a kirtan before I leave. Keep ya posted 🙏

Excited to do this thing!
Hari Hari!!

Starting in November, I’ll be renting out a vintage ballroom in NE over near PCC every Thursday night and hosting a short Gita class, kirtan and vegan prasadam potluck!

Super stoked to get our community together again and build from there!

More details to come.

Portland Bhakti Center will now be known as the Portland Bhakti Community, because that’s what we are. Bhakti is found in the heart, not in the building.
But, stay tuned….
