Grant Enclave Little Library

Well, the day has come. The library was being slowly destroyed, but I’d hoped I could build new doors with some help. But tonight someone tore it off it’s cement bolts (!!) so now I have to remove it. It won’t be safe from toppling over onto someone now. I enjoyed running our library. I'm sorry this experiment didn't work out.

Well, someone further vandalized the library, and a nice person dropped off books. Thank you, nice person. 💜
We’re still looking for someone who could build us a simple door—we’d love to put all the books out again. Please message us if you know anyone who could help!

Sorry folks but we’re closed for the indefinite future. Someone left all the doors wide open, wrenched a door apart, and even left books in rain puddles. (We’re working hard to save the books.)
Looking for a handyman to come fix the door… We do plan to open again! In the mean time happy holidays, and thanks to everyone who have been donating cool books!

So far Library life is exciting! People have picked up books for kids and adults, we’ve given away some games and DVDs, and people are even trying out some of the little plant starts! 📚📖

And 2 signs have been broken, a k**b torn off, paint gouged and half the plants dumped out. 🤡
*A cool discovery is that there seems to be a neighborhood Good Samaritan who sometimes gets there before I do and tries to put things right, latches the doors, dumps the plants back into their pots.* 💜

I think my door wind-latches may be too tricky, so I’ll think about how to adjust that.

HEY The first requests are in the wishes book!: If anyone has “The Art of War”, or some Astrology books you’d like to pass on, please drop them off—someone here would really appreciate them.

We made our debut this morning! The library is open now with books, puzzles, plants and seeds. Can’t wait to see you there.

Our sign arrived and we have a charter #! Now to attach it, and then add the library to the world map. It’s almost time for the grand opening…

The roof is on! Building is complete!
What’s left is decorating and signage... and figuring out how to drill into the concrete slab to attach brackets —so strong winds won’t blow the Library over.

Shingled the cardboard back, attached and weatherproofed the roof frame. Tin roof coming soon...
