🚲 We are honored to be recognized by Mainebiz at the MaineBiz Community Impact Awards as the Nonprofit Collaboration of the Year for our partnership with Portland Gear Hub!

Through this collaboration, 15 refurbished bicycles were provided to individuals working hard to rebuild their lives. More than just a mode of transportation, these bicycles help remove a critical barrier to employment, recovery, and independence—supporting our clients on their journey toward long-term stability and self-sufficiency.

A sincere thank you to MaineBiz for this recognition and to Portland Gear Hub for being an incredible partner in creating meaningful opportunities for those we serve. 💙🚲✨

Last weekend, 29 friends of United Recovery Fund came together for a mini golf outing at Mini Bar Golf in Portland. The group included a meaningful mix of current and alumni MaineWorks employees, residents of Northern Light Health's McCauley Residence for women, family members, and recovery community allies.

It was an afternoon filled with camaraderie, laughter, and a little friendly competition ⛳️—but more importantly, it was a reminder that fellowship is a vital part of both early and sustained recovery.

Creating space for people to come together, build relationships, and simply enjoy life in community is at the heart of what we do. 💙

Another great URF outing with clients and friends! We caught an exciting game as the Maine Mariners Hockey took down the Greensboro Gargoyles 3–2 in their first-ever matchup! 🏒 It was a thrilling back-and-forth game, and the Mariners’ wins in the two-game series helped clinch their spot in the playoffs! 🏆

Outings like these are about more than just hockey—they create opportunities for connection, community, and shared joy. Those moments of fellowship are essential, especially in early recovery, helping build the support systems that make long-term recovery possible. 💙
