An important update from OrpheusPDX:
After careful consideration, we will be pausing productions until 2027 due to a decline in philanthropic support across the arts sector. We are deeply grateful for the support of our community and look forward to bringing you the artistic excellence and vitality you've come to expect when we return to the stage.
Thank you for being part of the OrpheusPDX community. ❤️

Congrats to Deanna, who conducted Dark Sisters, The Rose Elf, and Scipio’s Dream for OrpheusPDX!
🗣️ Announcing Deanna Tham as the Redlands Symphony's newly appointed Music Director & Conductor!
We received thousands of comments and survey answers when our three conducting finalists were in town at the beginning of the season. Each candidate came to Redlands with a unique voice, a depth of musical knowledge and experience, and a curiosity about how to make Redlands and the surrounding communities a musical hotspot for connection, enrichment, and excellent quality of life.
After a process lasting almost 2 years, the Board of Directors is pleased to welcome Deanna Tham as the 9th Music Director and Conductor of the Redlands Symphony. Tham is also the Music Director of the Union Symphony (NC) and has held positions with Oregon, Omaha, and Jacksonville Symphonies as well as numerous prestigious guest conducting positions across the country and the world.

Giving Tuesday started with one powerful idea: generosity can change the world.
Today, we invite you to be part of that movement. If OrpheusPDX adds meaning to your life, please consider supporting us.
Our goal is to raise $5,000 to help propel our unique opera company forward — nurturing emerging artists and bringing world-class opera to Portland. Every gift, no matter the size, makes a difference.
Thank you for supporting the arts this Giving Tuesday!
🎶 Happy ! Today, we celebrate the incredible artists, creative teams, and production crews who bring extraordinary opera to life in Portland!
We're marking the day with a look back (pun intended!) at our very first production: Monteverdi's L'Orfeo from 2022.

We can’t wait to tune in!
Friday on Northwest Previews, host Andrea Murray speaks to multi-Grammy-nominated Cellist Matt Haimovitz about his friendship with the late, great Jacqueline du Pré. Widely regarded as one of the prominent cellists of the 20th century, du Pré befriended a then-teenage Haimovitz in the years after her illness forced her to quit performing.
Tune in Friday at 8:00 AM to hear Haimovitz's sweet memories of his friend and about the chamber opera, Jaqueline, coming up at OrpheusPDX. Join us at 89.9 FM or allclassical.org.
