Join Positive Charge! PDX this afternoon for our Period Power Project Community Packing Event, where we’ll come together to assemble kits, create cards of encouragement, and help ensure local individuals and families have access to essential period products.

More than 2 in 5 people who menstruate struggle to afford period products, and SNAP and WIC don’t cover these essential items. Today is a chance for our community to come together and help make a real difference 💗

Please note: volunteers under 18 are welcome but will need a signed minor waiver.

While Positive Charge! PDX's collection bins are now closed, there are still several ways to support Positive Charge! PDX’s Period Power Project as we prepare for our Community Packing Event.

You can still:
👉 Purchase period supplies and bring them directly to the packing event
👉 Make or bring cards of encouragement 💗
👉 RSVP and join us on May 16 (1–3pm) at Ida B. Wells High School Cafeteria
👉 Donate funds and we’ll purchase additional supplies for the project

Supplies and card-making materials will also be available at the event, where volunteers will assemble care kits for local individuals and families.

📚✡️ May is Jewish American Heritage Month — and here at Positive Charge! PDX, our Compassion Through Literature Little Free Libraries are sharing and welcoming books, celebrating our Jewish families, friends, and neighbors!

We are so lucky to call Portland home — a city with a rich, deep Jewish history AND some of the country's most beloved authors living right in our backyard.

📖 Eric A. Kimmel (Portland!) — Oregon's own teller of tales and Caldecott Honor winner has written nearly 150 books rooted in Jewish folklore and Yiddish storytelling. Beloved by generations of young readers, Hershel and the Hanukkah Goblins, The Chanukkah Guest, and Gershon's Monster are just a few of the treasures you'll find in our libraries. He is, simply put, a Portland literary legend. ⭐
