But 'Co-Conspirator 8' - an unnamed NBA coach living in Oregon with 17 years of NBA playing experience, just like Billups, is mentioned in a separate case on illegal sports gambling.
That 'unnamed' person is alleged to have told a bettor in March 2023 that the Blazers were about to tank for a better draft pick and rest key players. The Blazers lost by 28. The bets paid off.
