9 years ago today, we learned that the US government was spying broadly on its own people, thanks to Edward Snowden. He has since been called a whistleblower, a coward, a traitor, and a patriot.

We have been championing creating your own Hollidays, and tossing aside old ones that don’t align with your values.

We would like to declare June 6th as Edward Snowden Day, to commemorate his sacrifice of living any semblance of a normal life in order to tell the world his message.
