Party Killer
Given their name there’s nothing shocking about Party Killer’s tendency to push several exhilarating buttons at once.
Sonic provocateurs at heart, the Portland based band has accumulated ringing endorsements from rock stars, accolade imbued bewilderment from local weeklies and caustic criticisms from unsolicited strangers. Post-punk icon and esteemed musicologist Julian Cope described Party Killer's self titled album as "colossal" while drawing correlations to Monoshock and Chrome. Casey Jarman of Willamette Week

Excerpt: Party Killer - “Theremin D”
Much love to everyone who came out to the Party Killer vinyl release show last night! We had a blast and we hope you did too. Considerable gratitude to Creature Guts and Tiny Holograms for their outstanding sets AND the pros at The Kenton Club on the board, bar, grill and door!
We started this project 20 years ago as a form of personal catharsis and collective outrage, to challenge complacency when a cadre of war mongers deceived this nation (and the world) into believing a series of foolish wars would bring peace. Now we face a brand new gang of grifters attempting to mislead us into fighting each other with a war upon our very own people.
We may play the fool but we are not foolish. We don’t lick boots and we don’t kneel. We stand with our fellow Portlanders and oppressed people everywhere, from the streets of LA and DC to Gaza and Kiev; essentially anywhere authoritarians seek to control people in order to accumulate more wealth and power.
As “professional” improvisers we’ve learned to MacGyver every impossible moment into another chance to thrive, on the stage and in our lives, exercising our anger and frustrations into a malleable force for good in this beautiful city.
Although Portland is far from perfect it is anything but a war zone. Many of us have spent our lives searching for a place where we can be at peace with ourselves and each other, a home base where we can share the benefits of our unique differences instead of judging others from a distance while ignoring our own flaws and insecurities. More often than not this city is that very place.
We avidly support anti-bullying, anti-bigotry, anti-bullsh*t and yes, anti-fascism. We will not submit. We will not comply. As sovereign citizens of this beautiful planet we will continue to fight injustice everywhere through our own brand of joyous mayhem. Love Party Killer ❤️

Thanks a million to Shannon Lubetich and The Portland Mercury for their kind words about Party Killer’s upcoming release show this Friday!
“Portland Mercury contributor Robert Ham once described local band Party Killer as “unholy improvisational terror." The band has been making loud and fuzzy experimental rock for 20 years, a fact that they're celebrating with a live show and the release of their first album since 2010. Get there early to check out the synth-filled dark wave tunes of Tiny Holograms and hear from CreaTureGuts, who makes rock music with electronic and metal influences. This one might just melt your face off.” by Shannon Lubetich
