Be Well Baby
Support for pregnancy and postpartum including physical therapy, yoga, bodywork, lactation support, and birth education.
Over-prepare for birth and postpartum with Dr. Emily Spaeth.
I know you moms can probably relate, too😅
A large part of my job is honestly just answering texts that say:
“Is this normal???”
And it can be about literally...ANYTHING:
baby p**p
how your b***s freaking HURT
you feel like you have been split in half “”down there””
weird newborn noises
spit up
bleeding
gas
latch pain
If you want a partner in your postpartum (or prenatal!) journey, we’re here to support all the things with events, online support, home visits for lactation & craniosacral in the Portland, OR, area and beyond, and so much more!

What if your baby has been communicating with you all along — and you just needed the tools to hear them?
In this episode, Dr. Emily sits down with Belinda on the Perfect Child Podcast to talk about one of her favorite (and most misunderstood) topics: consent with babies. From the NICU to the changing table, Dr. Emily breaks down what infant communication actually looks like, why slowing down transforms your caregiving, and how small everyday rituals build the foundation for a deeply connected relationship with your child.

“Honestly… I’m scared.”🫣
We hear that sentence ALL the time when parents talk about s*x after birth.
Not because they don’t love their partner, but because postpartum changes your body in ways no one fully prepares you for...
We hear things like:
• “I’m terrified it’s going to hurt.”
• “Everything feels tighter…or weaker…or just different.”
• “I don’t even know what’s normal anymore.”
• “I thought I was supposed to just bounce back.”
Your pelvic floor, nervous system, hormones, scars, feeding patterns, sleep deprivation, and emotional recovery ALL influence intimacy after birth.
That’s exactly why we’re hosting a FREE session:
S*x After Birth
🗓 July 24
With Andaluz Water Birth Center
A calm, honest conversation about:
• what’s normal
• what’s not
• why s*x can feel painful or intimidating postpartum
• what actually helps
• and how healing is possible with the right support
If you want to be fully confident to connect with your partner again after birth (at ANY stage of your journey), DM me that you want in!
Secret things prenatal yoga can do for your body (spoiler alert: it’s pretty magical):
No...it’s not just stretching.
Prenatal yoga can help you:
• Learn how to relax your pelvic floor (which is just as important as strengthening it)
• Create more space for your baby as they grow
• Improve rib mobility so breathing feels easier
• Reduce tension in your hips, back, and pelvis
• Practice positions that may feel helpful during labor
• Improve body awareness and confidence in movement
• Support circulation and reduce swelling
• Help your nervous system shift out of “”fight or flight””
Basically, it trains your body to do EVERYTHING you need to prepare for birth.
Those skills become incredibly valuable during labor, birth, and postpartum.
That’s why we’re opening up Sunday Yoga classes for both prenatal AND postpartum moms.
Yes, you can bring your baby. (And yes, we can even hold your baby for you while you move!)
Starting July 5th at 4pm and continuing most Sundays, we’ll be gathering for movement, connection, and support through pregnancy and postpartum!

What if the key to your baby's long-term health started before they ever took their first breath? 🤰
This week, I sit down with Dr. Kirin Palmer (), pediatrician, functional medicine practitioner, and founder of Pure Joy Pediatrics in the Portland metro area. We talk about the one thing most pediatricians aren't yet doing: putting the gut microbiome at the center of newborn care.
If your baby has struggled with reflux, colic, eczema, gassy, uncomfortable feeds, or weird colored p**ps with no answers... this episode is for you. 💛
We cover why your microbiome during pregnancy is your baby's starting point, what really happens in a newborn's gut in the first hours of life, why Dr. Palmer hasn't diagnosed a baby with colic in years, how antibiotics and birth method affect baby's gut (and what to do about it), why most OTC probiotics fall short, and what healthy newborn p**p actually looks like.
We use the terms mother, mom & birthing person interchangeably in this episode. 🌈

Jen Hamilton told me I smelled good!
After a sweaty sweaty day in the exhibit hall- I’m honored!!!
She smelled good too. 😉
I went to AWHONN so excited to meet and then I met Julie… 😭 🫶 Want to be friends??
I have been recommending Birth Vibes to every single family I work with and getting to stand in that line, with other health care providers who are trying to change practice from the inside, hold the book, chat with them both, and THEN have Jen tell me I smelled good was an absolute FULL CIRCLE moment 🥹✨
If you haven’t read Birth Vibes yet... you should listen to it. Hearing it with her tone of voice is everything. Your birth deserves it, your patients deserve it…
