Engine Co. 11 serves and protects the East Deering section of Portland, ME.

Today marks the final shift with the department for Lieutenant Glenn Gorden. Lt. Gorden joined the department in August 2011 and was promoted to the rank of lieutenant in March 2019. He was most recently assigned to Engine 11 on Platoon 2. In his over 14 years of service to the department, Lt. Gorden garnered a reputation for his hard work, team focus, intelligence and experience.

We thank Lt. Gorden for his dedication to the department and the City of Portland, Maine and wish him the best of luck as Topsham Fire's new chief!

On July 14, 1996 Engine Co. 11 was assigned this Freightliner / Ferrara FLD 112 commercial chassis 4-door cab 1,250gpm pumper, with a 1,000 gallon tank. By November of 1999 it would be replaced with a Pierce Saber. The Ferrara would be nicknamed "The Beast From The East".

Please be advised: Due to utility relocations on and adjacent to the site, there will be a planned outage of Spectrum internet service affecting East Deering Neighborhood customers on the streets of Kensington, Berwick, Windsor Terrace, Lennox, Kendall, Chester, Watson, and Island. Engine 11 responded with in town companies last night to a report of fire coming from windows at 481 Danforth st. The all hands was struck on E6 arrival and a second alarm shortly after. E11 assisted with fire suppression and overhaul efforts. Strong work by shift three.
