EXCITING NEWS: We're nominated in 's Best of Portland awards to defend our crown as Best South Asian Food, plus we're nominated for Best Vegan Restaurant! Thanks to everyone who nominated us. ♥️💛

LESS COOL NEWS: While they all make great food, not a single one of our fellow nominees are South Asian restaurants! Does that mean we win by default? We contacted WW to ask "what's up? last year we were up against other South Asian spots!" and they blamed Portlanders for their poor geography knowledge when nominating, and claimed they have zero editorial control. You wont see a burger place nominated for best pizza, but when it comes to food from places where brown people live, the message is "it's all the same!" Great job , maybe add a Best Southeast Asian Food category instead of this weirdness?

OH AND ALSO, is not a vegan restaurant - in a town with dozens of vegan restaurants, WHY would you allow a non-vegan spot to be nominated for Best Vegan Restaurant? They're perfectly fine in the Best Vegetarian category. Sigh.

Anyway, vote for us for Best South Asian Restaurant because we're the only one nominated? And just vote for any of the 4 vegan restaurants for Best Vegan Restaurant because they all make tasty food and these awards have proven to be very silly.

We'll see you in the streets. We will be closed on Friday 1/30 in solidarity with the Twin Cities and all the families being torn apart across the country.

Missing an entire Friday of business during our slow season is gonna be rough, yet we voted as a cooperative to eat the loss and help continue the momentum to abolish ICE.

We are open regular hours every other day this week and we would love to see you. We have plenty of free kits to pick up.

We will likely see an indefinite general strike soon, so let's think of this as a practice run. **kice

did you know that we updated our menu back in November? We somehow never posted about it.

We added a dozen new dishes and completely changed the structure of the menu.

The biggest change is more options to customize your meal so you can get exactly what you want.

We still have 4 specials every day. This weekend (pictured) we have Green Eggplant Curry, Deviled Potatoes, Cucumber Sambol, and Collards Mallum.

But you don't have to get all of them, or any of them even! You're free to build your own rice & curry meal (plate or family style) choosing from the specials or from 16 signature dishes we have every day - including favorites like Garlic Curry.

of course, you are welcome to order the same combination that used to be the default: four specials, parippu (dahl), and one condiment. The price for that combination is $24 just as always. ❤️💛
