Maniac Mutts is a fun, force-free, and effective dog training company serving Southwest Portland.

Working with shelter dogs for over ten years in addition to managing the behavior department of a local shelter gives us the knowledge and skills necessary to successfully work with large, strong, and reactive dogs. Our adventure services provide much needed outlets by giving your dog long walks, runs, and hikes while incorporating essential training that can help prevent behavior problems and make them easier to live with.

Courtesy post please share! Maggie is located in Portland, OR and owner is looking to re-home. PM me if interested.

"This is Maggie. She is a six yr old female gsp.
She is spayed, current on all vaccinations. Up to date on her heartworm medication. (When she was around two she contacted heartworm and was treated for it. She was on heartworm prevention when she contracted it.) last heartworm test was 2/16/2026 which was negative.
She is housebroken, crate trained, somewhat leash trained(I use a nose lead when I walk her.)
When left alone she is non destructive.
Hates cats and also is not fond of other female dogs. She would do well being an only child.
She’s timid at the dog park with other dogs.
At the park she comes when called. Knows sit, down, but stay doesn’t seem to be in her vocabulary. She sleeps on the living room couch..
She mostly spends her days inside. Previously I lived in a home with a big back yard but now live in a small condo, so she only goes outside when I walk her and take her to the dog park.
Very gentle and has never bitten anyone.
I do not know how she would do with young children since all my grandchildren were eleven or older when we acquired her.
She does not like fireworks or guns. I have to put her in her crate during July 4.
Ride well in the car. Driving from south Texas to Portland she curled up in the back and went to sleep.
Maggie was my husbands dog. He would walk her six miles with his electric wheelchair four times a week. Since his passing almost two years ago I’m finding difficult to take care of her and meet her needs."

🤫 Shh… she earned this.

🐾 Our young black pitty is completely passed out after a full day with Maniac Mutts — no movement, no mischief, just deep, well-earned rest.

😏 Direct approach.

🐾 Bella lifts that long snoot straight up at us, closing the distance like negotiation isn’t even on the table — she knows exactly what we’re holding.

✨ Some dogs wait politely. Bella moves with purpose.

☀️ Full speed, full heart.

🐾 Stella comes charging down the lush green trail, ears flying back, wearing that big, unstoppable smile like the whole world just said “go.”

✨ On a bright sunny day like this, there’s no holding her back — only keeping up.

😂 Mid-whoof. No filter.

🐾 Pepper sits pretty — technically — but caught mid-“whoof” like whatever announcement she had simply could not wait another second.

✨ Some dogs think it through. Pepper files the report immediately.

⚡ Pre-zoomie loading…

🐾 A young doodle stands coiled and ready, body angled like he’s about to explode into motion — that unmistakable split-second before chaos begins.

☁️ Even on a gray, cloudy day, he’s practically glowing with anticipation.

✨ You can’t stop a zoomie. You can only witness it.

🌾 The Duchess, considering the world.

🐾 Wearing her gray fleece vest, she stands above the overgrown grass, golden eyes catching the sunlight as she looks out — still, measured, thoughtful.

✨ Some dogs chase the moment. Others pause long enough to understand it.

🏖️ **Permission granted.**

🐾 Bella stands at the beach under a clear sky, face completely dusted in sand, looking wildly overjoyed — like she just received official confirmation that digging is unlimited.

✨ Some dogs hear “go ahead” and take it personally.

🌾 Of course she did.

🐾 Schnooks stands soaked among the tall, overgrown reeds — calm, satisfied, unmistakably wet.

🌊 Somehow, somewhere, she found the water. She always does.

✨ Some instincts never fade. They just lead the way.

🌿 Wild, and wonderfully unaware.

🐾 Our favorite tiny Lagotto stands in the middle of the trail, curls soaked and flopping into his face, big tongue hanging off to the side like he couldn’t be happier about it.

🍂 Surrounded by lush trees and fallen leaves, he looks like he just ran straight through the forest — and would gladly do it again.

✨ Some dogs tidy up. Others wear the adventure proudly.

😄 They know. They always know.

🐾 Bella stands front and center wearing her unmistakable “you have a treat” smile — locked in, confident, fully aware.

😄 Just behind her, slightly out of focus, Duquesa mirrors that same enormous grin like this is a coordinated operation.

✨ Some things don’t need confirmation. The smiles say it all.
