Metropolitan Family Service Meadows Elementary Sumer School with Meadows and Butler Creek.

We piloted our Robot Rescue Academy, and this day was the last day end of Sumer celebration where we brought the Robot Dogs, and UGV Rc cars for a full experience. No drones today but that’s later!

The program was an amazing success and is one of our main programs for 2026-27.

Day One Tech STEM is transitioning from Summer to Fall. Each year we bring the fun under the sun for Summer and this year we are back for Fall.

Innovative STEM programs designed to keep high interest, to build critical thinking skills through play.

Elementary, middle and high school programs. This year all programs follow Oregon Department of Education guidelines.

UGV RESCUE MISSION 🚙

This summer at the Rockwood Market Hall Farmers Market, kids helped build their own version of the Rockwood neighborhood using paint, popsicle sticks, and everyday materials - then we put it to the test.

A natural disaster scenario changed the terrain. Obstacles appeared. A rescue was needed.

Using a modified RC vehicle as a UGV, we worked together to navigate the disaster zone, rescue a Squishmallow, and safely return it to home base.

Our Robot Rescue Academy takes curiosity, creativity, and the natural empathy young people already have and turns it into a reason to build, problem-solve, adapt, and complete a mission together.

Day One Tech STEM back with Rose City J.A.M and this time 1803fundcommunity at The Low End!

Another summer in the books! Day One showcased our afterschool / inschool program stations including E-Sports and our new Robot Rescue Academy’s UGV Rescue Project - that’s the pink rc car! Empathy. Critical Thinking. Planning and design. Real world / real future tech applications. Literacy first! Catch us in schools and apartments. Partner with us too. Still accepting partnerships for the 2026-26 school year.

We had an amazing time and excited for future collaborations! We create safe places to learn through play, meeting ourselves - where we are, from Day One! 🤴🏾 👸🏿💜
