The Friends of the SP4449 have been awarded a grant from the NRHS for $5,000 for the purpose of restoration and painting the GN-1 steam generator car. This will help bring the exterior of the car to completion and return it to Great Northern colors. A big thank you to the NRHS!

The end of a very memorable day for me (Neil Ferris). 5 years ago today I got the cab ride of a lifetime on the return trip from Bend, Or. This is the view from the top of the tender when we reached Portland's Union Station.
