Fun Facts about Liz, who you will primarily see at our West Location:

- Liz grew up in the small town of Redlands in Southern California and then moved to the Bay Area for college living there for a total of 7 years where she played collegiate soccer and also met her husband Steven.

- She has a 3 year old labrador pitbull whose name is Remi.

- After soccer, she started training in boxing which then also led into a joy of endurance training where she is now training to compete in her 4th marathon.

Fun Facts about Alyssa, who you will primarily see at our East Location:

- Alyssa grew up in Scappoose, Oregon and played soccer for F.C. Portland. She was then a goalkeeper at Linfield where she got her degree in Exercise Science.

- She competed in a handful of other sports growing up, including becoming a black belt in Taekwondo. Now, Alyssa is enjoying learning to golf.

- In her free time she loves to paint, typically with watercolor. Dog portraits have been her latest obsession, but enjoys nature and landscape painting as well.

Mobility ≠ Stretching

If I had a dollar for every time someone asked me for "some stretches" to solve their issues, I'd retire.

Think of mobility, instead, as the ability to move through different patterns and achieve different positions all while under control.

The control part is key.

It is not enough to simply have range of motion. We must be able to control and display a decent level of strength through an entire range of a joint.

The lack of strength through range is just as much of an issue as lack of range itself, but each requires a different solution.

So, next time you or your athlete suspect your hips are tight, look deeper. Getting the right assessment done to get the right solution planned.
