The Totally Very Real White Genocide in South Africa w/ Dan Corder & Eugene Khoza - What Now Podcast 06/26/2025

I'm doing a lot of serious work helping white parents of kids of color become fierce advocates for their kids. But now it's time for some laughter around race. Enjoy comedians or at least people with a healthy dose of humor, discussing the "white genocide" in South Africa. How did this non-event ever become headline news?

When an Apology Isn't Enough 06/26/2025

I went through the eye of the needle trying to get the right mental health services for my child. No matter how sincere the apology from an agency that dropped the ball a few times, the battle for our children with complex needs doesn't stop. Here's my story.

When an Apology Isn't Enough A heartfelt look at parenting through system failures, where sincere apologies fall short—and fierce, ongoing advocacy becomes the only option.

What if Privilege is a Blind Spot? 06/13/2025

What if privilege is just a blind spot?
Not something to feel guilty about.
Not something to defend.
Just something we’ve never had to see.

That idea has been stirring in me.

Because if privilege is blindness, then maybe awareness is where healing begins.
Not just for individuals—but for families, communities, whole generations.

And here’s what gives me hope:

💫 If we truly knew someone’s story—every wound, every struggle, every inherited pain—we’d love them. To the moon and back.

Imagine that kind of compassion.
Imagine that kind of world.

I think often of how the Black community has led the way with more than just resilience.
🔥 With pride.
💃🏾 With joy.
🎶 With unbreakable creativity and deep wisdom.

That’s not just survival.
That’s sacred.

🧭 In my coaching, I help white parents raising children of color live from vision, not fear. From imagination, not limitation. From love, not defensiveness.

If you’re ready to grow, learn, and show up more fully for your kids—I’m here. 💛

👇 I’d love to hear: What’s one “blind spot” you’ve been waking up to lately?

What if Privilege is a Blind Spot? Explore how privilege may be a blind spot—and how love, imagination, and Black joy can lead us toward healing, wholeness, and real racial equity.

Ok Boomer, pass the hair cream - generational whiteness in parents 06/13/2025

From Boomers to Gen Z, white parents are waking up to the realities of race — especially when raising kids of color.

👵🏽 Boomers say “we don’t see color.”
😴 Gen X says “I’m too tired for this.”
📱 Millennials quote Ibram Kendi on Instagram.
💥 Gen Z already canceled their parents.

If you're a white parent loving Black or Brown children, this one’s for you.
It’s funny. It’s real. And it might just reflect a little of your own journey back at you.

When We Parent with Unexamined Bias - We Burden Our Children 06/13/2025

When we parent with unexamined bias, we burden our children. I say that with so much love—for you, for me, for all of us doing the best we can.

If you’re a white parent raising a Black or Brown child, you’ve probably already felt it: the invisible weight your child carries. The pressure to behave a certain way, to be “respectful” in ways that match white expectations, to shrink or perform to make others comfortable—even at home.

We don’t mean to do this. But unless we’ve done the deep, uncomfortable work of unpacking our own bias, we do pass it on. Not out of hate, but out of habit. Out of inherited fear. Out of unconscious whiteness.

I wrote a blog post about what it means to truly lighten our children’s load—not by parenting with guilt or shame, but by doing our own work with courage and compassion.

💬 If this resonates, I invite you to read, reflect, and reach out. You’re not alone on this journey—and you don’t have to walk it alone.

When We Parent with Unexamined Bias - We Burden Our Children Unexamined bias in parenting harms our children. Learn how awareness, not guilt, creates freedom—for you and the children you're raising with love.

Hot off the press. A fun exploration of how the different generations show up when doing anti racism work. Confession: I could recognize myself in each one of them.
