Mr. Alpha has done it again. We got back from Mokanji with another bag of fabric pieces that I'll be cutting and sorting before we come home.

We delivered the money from our last round of pieces in April and Alpha was so happy! He had no idea we had been raising money for him! Now his solar system is set up and he is hoping to buy larger batteries so that he can start a solar charging station for a little extra income.

Fabric has made it back to the states and will be sent out courtesy of my mom 🥳

There are still sets of 5x5 squares and strips left if you want to claim your own set of Africana 💚🤍💙

For reference, the squares were cut using this 6.5 inch book as a guide. Knowing that my edges aren't straight, each square should be large enough to trim to 6.5 inches.

Meet Mr. Alpha. He is our friend from Mokanji who is also an awesome tailor. Since this picture was taken (13 years ago) he has built his own shop and is trying to install solar. He has been buying the parts when he can over the past two years, but it has been a slow process. Once he has it up and running, he can use his electric sewing machine!

Since my most recent side quest has been collecting fabric scraps, I am posting the extra pieces he has given us so we can help him finish his solar project. Everything has been cut and packed, and is heading back to the states this week. Look for the new album "fabric scraps and pieces" and comment if you see something you like. (And if you're from Mokanji and know Mr. Alpha - shhhhhhh 🤫🤫 we want to surprise him!)

In an hour and a half I have cut 137 squares, but it's 11pm and I'm too tired to keep cutting. Our tailor friend in Mokanji came through with some amazing scraps! Check back for more pictures tomorrow 🤞🤞

When I was sewing last summer I was getting desperate for fabric. I even took apart a couple of old skirts so I could keep sewing. Being back in Salone has an added benefit - more LAPAS! All this fabric is headed home to wait for me so I can keep sewing!

And for all my quilt-y and craft-y friends I have also embarked on a new side quest. Stay tuned for some scrap bundles coming soon!

So excited to be headed to the MA Center for the holiday bazaar next weekend that I'm sorting inventory in the middle of my kitchen. This is the only in person even this year- if you've had your eye on something in the albums, snag it before next weekend!

Check out the event if your near Seattle next weekend!

Taking orders through this weekend so I can ship them out next week.

The sale is slow so there is still lots left! I'll update pictures as things sell.
