Here's an event we are excited about! On Oct. 3 we invite girls in grades 5-12 to join ORTOP for a FREE robotics camp that's just for them.

All girls in grades 5-12 are invited to attend this event at Wilsonville High School. We will have hands-on robotics fun, food, inspirational speakers, and some free goodies too! Participants will get a behind-the-scenes look at a high school robotics competition, too, at the annual Girls Gen event held the same day.

Area FTC teams are invited to attend an official Kickoff event this Saturday at Intel's Jones Farm Auditorium in Hillsboro. Doors open at 8:30, and after the season reveal video at 9 teams can enjoy an alumni presentation, knowledge sharing, and hands-on interaction with the BIOBUZZ field.

Southern Oregon FTC teams, you're invited to Kickoff at Umpqua Community College's Whipple Fine Arts Center. Plan to arrive between 8 and 8:30. Lunch will be provided -- send a message if you're gluten-free. Parking may be limited at UCC is also hosting a car show that day, so plan ahead! Thank you, SOAR, for hosting!

FTC Kickoff is one week from tomorrow! Today we are spotlighting a new kickoff location this year: Benson Polytechnic High School. Thank you for hosting, Teams 187 and 267! The doors will open at 8:30 am on Saturday, September 12.

FTC Kickoff Counter: 9 days!

We are sharing information about kickoff events around that state. Up today is Lake Oswego's FTC robotics teams kickoff event, held at Lakeridge High School on Sept. 12. Doors open at 8 and the season reveal video starts promptly at 9.

FLL coaches in the Portland Metro area: We have former teams looking to donate 1 or 2 Challenge tables. These are the heavy plywood type and they would need to be picked up this week. If you are interested and have a way to transport a table (truck, trailer or possibly large SUV), please comment here or email [email protected] ASAP. Unfortunately the tables cannot be held due to a move.

Are you a FRC fan who didn't get enough of the REBUILT season? If so you're in luck because it's almost time for Oregon's pair of off-season events! Please mark your calendars for the first weekend in October and join us at Wilsonville High School for:

GIRLS GEN. On Saturday, Oct. 3, girls and nonbinary students step into the spotlight and take over all the major competition roles including strategy, pit crew, and drive team.

FIRST CHANCE. On Sunday, Oct. 4, it's the rookies' turn to step up and learn what competition is all about. Experienced students can also try on new roles in this low-stakes competition.
