Here is our Health & Hygiene schedule for the week.
🚿We will be at Pilgrim Lutheran on Monday the 27th; PDX Saints Love Day Center and Family of Grace on the 28th; WeShine Village and Imago Dei Eastside on Wednesday the 29th; PDX Saints Love Day Center and Freedom Foursquare Church on the 30th; and All Saints Episcopal on Saturday, August 1st.
🧼Resources at all sites will be from 11 am - 2 pm. We will have showers, clean clothing, and hygiene products.
🚿The stationary hygiene hub located at Cultivate Initiatives (14625 SE Stark St.) is also open Monday through Friday this week, offering showers, hygiene resources, and laundry services. Those operating hours are 10:30 am - 3 pm Monday and Friday, and 9:30 am - 2 pm Tuesday-Thursday.

⚾🎉 Another month, another Funventure in the books! This time our crew headed out to cheer on the Portland Pickles as they took on the Springfield Drifters. Ballpark snacks, sunshine, and great company. This is what community is all about!

We recently got to celebrate something really special: a group of employees who showed up, worked hard, and grew right in front of us.

Over the past 6 months to a year, these trainees and apprentices have been building real-world skills alongside our team. They were learning, leading, contributing, and proving every day that they belong in the workforce.

Watching them grow into their roles as Cultivate employees has been one of the most joyful parts of our year.

Congratulations to this graduating class! We are so proud of the work you’ve put in, the growth you’ve shown, and the bright futures you’re building. We can’t wait to see where you go from here.

Since 2021, 495 interns have completed their journey with Cultivate Initiatives, and that number keeps growing.

Our interns don't just learn on the job, they become part of a team. They join our beautification crews on the trucks, hauling and clearing debris to help keep East Portland and the surrounding community clean, one block at a time. We also partner with Troutdale, Fairview, Wood Village, and the Port of Portland to patrol specific areas doing debris pickup, landscaping work, and outreach to our unhoused neighbors.

The result: a million pounds of trash removed from our community every year. Our interns are a huge part of making that happen, gaining real work experience while giving back to the place they call home.

Big things are growing for our Internship Program. 🎉

We've been listening, learning, and leveling up. Our internship is getting an upgrade this fiscal year: more time to build real skills, more hands-on training, and a program structure that's built to set our interns up for lasting success once they step into the workforce.

This isn't just a longer program. It's a stronger one. We're doubling down on what helps people land and keep good jobs, because that's the whole point.
