2024 US Brewers Cup Champion, Weihong Zhang, founded BLENDIN after moving from China to the states in order to complete a PhD program in Biochemistry. His postdoctoral research project led him to Houston, Texas where things would change. After cupping and tasting coffees during a work trip in Kenya, a science driven coffee project become the goal. Zhang would go on to become the US Champion while brewing a decaf coffee in the competition stage. For most, decaf is not even an option or even looked down upon; hardly even worth trying. Not for Zhang. This approach of defying convention and preconceived notions leads the philosophy at BLENDIN and it only makes sense to partner with them in serving the Portland community such gorgeous coffees.

For a limited time we’re rocking an epic blend on espresso that combines Panelita, a clean washed Mexican coffee with the ridiculously rare, thermal shock-natural processed coffee from El Diviso Ombligon (Nester Lasso) from Colombia. Think Dr. Pepper, watermelons, and blue raspberry candy.

was on our list to bring to Portland, but it was even more special knowing their friendship with the crew so we had to make happen.

Bringing this intersection of these worlds to life, Leif of and Lauren of will be here as we serve up tiramisu lattes (espresso version and matcha version). The drinks come with a full slice of the dessert from and (while supplies last) 🍰 🍵 ☕️

UPDATE we will open Saturday and Sunday for to go orders and be closed Monday. Again, don’t mind the eyesore of plywood etc. Some of the furniture isn’t the best to look at either so bare with us. You’re more than welcome to hang around the shop. Just be mindful with kids and dogs considering the context of the situation. We will have the usual treats from our favorite bakery’s. Our usual bagels and breakfast sandwiches as well as the legendary Saturday burritos. Big bummer being closed the day after Christmas. That’s usually a busy day for us so hopefully y’all could come grab a hat, a candle, or a box of coffee; even just a baked treat helps. Excited to see you and I know everyone will want to talk about it in person, but we can also talk about some other cool things people have been doing with their holiday time. helps get the mind off all of it for a moment. Definitely a Christmas bummer and to close the day after which we are so excited to serve coffee and provide space for the community again for the weekend 😔 Window seating views aren’t going to be the best look for a while until replacement is finalized (which always takes forever) so bear with us on aesthetics and views. Fortunately people can still walk in and out the front door, so please come in grab a drink or treat once we’re open. Means a lot for everyone checking in and really reminds me of the community we’re creating and have here. All the real ones looking out for each other and caring. Love yall! 🥹
