New work for my show in August 🌀

Been a busy bee lately

The final piece of this body of work I made last summer! I’m getting ready to plant indigo seeds, and my pansies are starting to bloom again. I feel like this might be a cyclical body of work for me, something I come back to seasonally. I didn’t get to try out sun dyeing last year, and I have some other things planned as well. I’m excited to try some different types of indigo dyeing in my little apartment! My coreopsis has started to come back, and I’m ready to start pounding some of these flowers again as we head into spring. It was also fun to figure out how to make these little sewn nests for these crystals, and I’m thinking about what I want to do with that going forward as well….

Don’t Let Gravity Win, 2025. Coreopsis, pansy, and marigold dyed fabric, found upholstery fabric, piping, shells gathered under full moon, agates from Oregon coast, plastic chain, grommets, fringe and trim scraps.

Lover’s Spit, 2025. Vintage and found fabric, costume fabric, piping, binding, sequins, rhinestones, embroidery.

Finished this work last year after a long time sitting on the different rainbow elements 🌈 I really love how the braided paracord in the middle is greater than the sum of its parts, color-wise… at least for me. I’m planning out my summer show right now and I think this one might make the cut ✨

I Long Just To Hold You Tight, 2025. Fabric, trim, embroidery, fringe, wooden beads, paracord, found belt buckle, chandelier drops.

I made some mid-sized installation work for this last show and it was great to get to focus on all the details. This one was a math challenge, and I had to figure out how to “shrink” this rainbow gradient fabric without losing the gradient. I ended up gathering every couple of inches and condensing the fabric by about 50%. All hand-gathered (I put a paper template behind the rectangle and gathered until it was that length) and then cut, backed, and overstitched, then all gathering threads in the rainbow were removed. This piece was also a fun chance to mess around with some different yarn ties- my favorite subtle yarn tying is in the silver “third eye”, where I used a rainbow gradient to reference the rainbow above.

I Want To Change The Future As I Look Into Your Eyes, 2025. 12’ x 15’. Fabric, paracord, beads, sequins, fringe, trim, yarn, rhinestones, grommets.

This series kept me grounded throughout all the turmoil this year, and I’m really looking forward to expanding on it this summer during growing season! I’m planting indigo, cosmos, coreopsis, marigolds, and I’ve got another group of pansies coming through. I’ve never grown indigo before but getting good tips from so we will see how it turns out!!

Like The Moon, My Chest Was Full, 2025. 26” dia. Hand-printed coreopsis grown by artist, indigo dyed fabric, cyanotype, Oregon agate collected from Tunnel Beach, velvet, binding, paracord, armature wire, embroidery.

One of my favorites from my show in November 🌞

This piece was such a labor of love- I grew the flowers I used to print and dye the fabric (then I printed and dyed the fabric) and sewed it with my super old workhorse sewing machine since my newer baby was in the shop, then I hand-stitched the medallion in the center. I had to re-appliqué it three times before it was centered enough that I was satisfied. I love how this turned out though! I wanted to make a body of “quieter” work that was more natural and brought in elements of my floral creativity. But I was a bit worried that this work wouldn’t ~feel like my work~ and I think that fear was pretty unfounded, because this definitely still feels like mine. 🌼

You Are A Ball Of Fire, 2025. 25” diameter. Hand-dyed fabric with artist-grown coreopsis and marigolds, printed with artist-grown coreopsis and blazing star, velvet from a vintage favorite top, trim from a friend of the artist, gifted secondhand fabric.
