Busy busy. 5 clamshell reel cases heading to a wholesale customer. The velvet lined Hardy D style for a 1930’s Hardy Bougle in his private collection.
Another custom order for some fly books. Two large books and then a HUGE one. Each page is 15” x 9”

Prototyping is always a challenge. Start with ideas and notes, try some patterns in paper, try the paper patterns in leather, then go for it. Something always comes up anyways, but the final product is worth it.
This was a custom case for a specific Orvis bamboo rod and Able reel setup.

One of my final prototype Hardy style D cases. I sent this to Nate to test the fit. I need to add maybe 1/32” to a couple spots to account for variations in thickness of the leather.
The reel is a Hardy Perfect 2 5/8” All-Brass from the late 1890s.
The case is Italian chestnut leather from and the lining is mulberry silk velvet.
