June is here. People are outside, plans are filling in, and things are heating up.

Turns out supporting local communities and finding raviolis have a lot in common: you’ve gotta know where to look.

World Bee Day, May 20. About a third of the food humans eat depends on pollinators. Bees do most of that work.

Solar farms and bees aren't usually in the same conversation. But they should be. A growing number of community solar farms plant pollinator habitat between and beneath their panels: clover, native wildflowers, and milkweed. The land does triple duty: clean energy, pollinator support, and topsoil recovery.

There’s been some talk around the office since Bike to Work Day last Friday. Mostly about the different ways we all get around.

Forty miles by car burns about a gallon and a half of gas. Forty miles by bike burns a sandwich.

Community solar shows up in this math, too. Last year, we enrolled roughly 75,000,000 kWh of community solar capacity, the equivalent of powering about 270 million miles of EV driving!

How do you get around town?

People find out this exists, and their first reaction is usually some version of "wait, why didn't I know about this sooner?" Fair question.

That's community solar. No panels on your roof, no upfront cost, no installation appointment to schedule. A local solar farm produces the energy, and the credits show up on the bill you're already paying.

We sent Kailyss back to check in with Jennifer, one full year after she signed up for community solar. 🌻

Kailyss asked the question everyone wants answered: "Has it really been free?"

Jennifer's answer? "It's been BETTER than free. And there was never any song and dance about fees."

Community solar was built to work for renters, homeowners, and everyone in between. No panels, no installation, no catches.

May the Source be with you.

Reminder that every solar panel on every farm in our network is, technically, powered by a star. A pretty close one. About 93 million miles, give or take.

Happy Star Wars Day from US Community Solar.

Think about a place near you that you love. A trail, a beach, a park, a neighborhood street.

Sustainability is really about keeping those places just as they are, for the next generation.

A walk through the park, a reminder to protect what’s around us,
and proof that even small moments outside can leave an impression. 🌎

When Jennifer first heard about community solar, she had the same question a lot of people do: is this actually legit, or is it too good to be true?
