Come celebrate the 18th Annual Billie Holiday Tribute Night at The Alberta Rose Theatre, Saturday, April 26, 2025. 8 pm.

Featured performers are Marcia Hocker, Laura Stilwell, Rita Marquez, Anandi, Marilyn Keller, and Lenanne Sylvester Miller.

The 18th Annual Billie Holiday Tribute Night is a celebration of Jazz Appreciation Month, Billie Holiday’s birthday month, and her 110th Birthday.

This event brings together musicians of many genres to pay tribute to one of the greatest jazz singers and songwriters of our time. Billie Holiday, also known as “Lady Day,” was an American jazz singer and songwriter. Holiday was a hugely formative influence on jazz and pop singing. Her vocal style, strongly inspired by jazz instrumentalists, pioneered a new way of manipulating phrasing and tempo. Above all, she was admired all over the world for her deeply personal and intimate approach to singing.

A portion of each ticket sale will also be donated to KBOO Community Radio.

We appreciate all the generous support for our annual Billie Holiday Tribute Night and our annual Dolly Parton Hoot Night this year. 2024 also marked the return of our FREE in-person Siren Nation Speaks workshops at McMenamin's Kennedy School!

This year was the 17th anniversary of our annual Billie Holiday Lady Sings the Blues event which brings together musicians of many genres to pay tribute to one of our time's greatest jazz singers and songwriters.

2024 marked the 18th anniversary of our Dolly Parton Hoot Night event, wherein we rounded up Portland's finest musicians to pay tribute to the Queen of Country music.

Our FREE Collage Explorations workshop with Peggy Pfenninger was a big hit! Peggy helped students discover how to ignite their creativity using just paper and glue, all within a relaxed and playful setting.

Our mission at Siren Nation is to inspire and empower women and people of all marginalized genders to create art, and to highlight their many achievements in the arts.

Siren Nation has been hosting concerts, workshops, and events for nearly two decades! Please help us continue creating opportunities for artists to perform, increase their visibility, and expose our audiences to a diversity of art and artists!

In order to keep our ticket prices accessible and to fairly and adequately compensate our performers, we need your help!

Billie Holiday tribute concert to benefit Portland non-profit

There's a night here in Portland filled with jazz performances to pay tribute to jazz icon Billie Holiday on what would have been her 109th birthday.

Marcia Hocker, artist-curator and emcee of the 17th annual Lady Sings the Blues event, stopped by AM Extra to tell what audiences can expect at the concert.

The show is happening Saturday, April 6 at 8 p.m at the Alberta Rose Theater.
