Thank you Cindy Lin, and thank you KC Craine for a wonderful show here at Singacoustic. Looking forward to hosting another show here. Cheers!
What a wonderful review of our recent performance at Singacoustic from Cindy Lin. We're blushing. See below:
"KC Craine & Tin Compass took the 'live music in a bar' experience to a whole new level. I have to say that I haven't been easily impressed with 'original' music, but I loved every single song last night. Each song felt distinct and beautiful in its own way. The set was also sequenced in a way that led the audience through an extended breath of fresh air, breathing life, joy, and passion back into our stressful and mundane everyday routines.
Not only is KC a rare find in his composing talents, the whole band was a surprising delight — a wonderful combination of diversity, creativity, and uniqueness.
With KC as the lead singer, Mary supports him with amazing harmonies and bass guitar. Calling my dear friend Will 'the drummer' doesn't do him justice. Will lifts up the spirit of every song with his uniquely arranged acoustic drum kit and a handful of other percussion instruments — tubular bells, shakers, and the like — to create his magic. He and his music took us up and down the emotional journey with each beat. Alan modernizes the accordion and adds substance, layers, and majesty. Phil plays the most enchanted violin and mandolin, perfecting each piece with chic and character.
The musicians' sheer love for music was simply contagious. From their first note to the very last, ninety minutes later (which felt like a few minutes), I was completely captured in their music. For the fast-beat songs — if there had been a dance floor, I would have been dancing the night away.
What I appreciate the most about KC is his storytelling. Every song had a story. And at meticulously chosen moments, he shared his personal stories behind certain songs, helping me appreciate them even more in context. His stories also offered inspiration for me to reflect on my own life.
The whole night significantly exceeded my expectations. I went to support my friend — and it turned out to be the best concert I've attended in years!"
