This might be my favorite track from toynbee. The guitar solo was done by Andrew, and then I did the synth solo portion for the “call and response.” Kristi and I worked together on the rest of the synth. It’s all - a The Source, and a Grandmother. This photo was taken by at his home studio, and captures me wearing my favorite bootleg Pullover. I don’t think they would be mad.

outer hebrides - The bones of this song were written in Castlebay, and in different spots on South Uist. Incredible place to visit, but if you look for spooky, you will find it.

Happy Friday. Couple more songs left to spotlight, and then who know’s what? We’ll probably have to start taking pictures, or playing out. Something! Anyway. This one really features the bass and synth. We used a Rickenbacker 4003, and a Moog Source, as well as a Behringer Wasp clone. I think this song is kinda neat. Andrew likes it.

puppybreath - track nine on toynbee. I think sounds really good on this one. And shout out to Dee Dee, gone but never forgotten.

Happy Valentine’s Day, everybody. Here’s a song from toynbee that’s called valentine, but isn’t REALLY about Valentines. Then again, every song on the album is kind of about more than one thing.

This is a fun one, I think.

In 2022 I caught a show in Portland, at the . Great show. At one point, Jeremy was improvising (as he is wont to do), and he did this sort of slow, 1950’s high hat and kick drum thing, and started singing about how badly he wanted to do various adult things to the audience as a collective whole. It was along the lines of “all I really wanna do is -“ fill in the blank. Everyone loved it. Inspired by the vibe, I went home and immediately wrote a slow, 1950’s rock version of this song, in 6/8. Later, when I decided I wanted to add in the Moogs, I changed it to 4/4 and sped it way up. I’m glad I did that.
