We have some very exciting news to share with everyone; Better Half 2.0 is in the works! The former Food Front space (2375 NW Thurman St.) in NW Portland will be our new home. 💕🥪💕

This new space has a larger layout and improved parking (a parking lot!). With our new, more spacious kitchen, we are able to bring back both breakfast and lunch sandwich options, in addition to our housemade chips, fries, hashbrowns, and the Lemongrass Tofu. We are also expanding our coffee program to include espresso drinks as well. Our new location will be open 7 days a week with expanded hours. Who remembers the Better Half burger!?!

We are delighted to have the opportunity to open our doors to the community once again. Our anticipated opening date for the new Better Half location is August 2026, and we cannot wait to welcome you back!

Y'all. We are already down to our final week at our current location. Thank you to everyone who reached out with kind words, thoughtful well wishes, and potential new locations for us. The outpouring of support we've received has been nothing short of touching, encouraging, and inspiring, and has meant so much to us during this transition. Our hearts are beyond full.

While we don't yet have a new location, we will post any updates here on our socials, so please continue to follow along as we begin this new chapter for our business.

We will be open Monday - Wednesday (11/24 - 11/26), 10am -3pm, this week. We will then be closed until we find our new home, but are able to take larger catering orders for the next few weeks. Please reach out to us at [email protected] for catering inquiries.

Our seasonal sando is the Turkey & Cranberry - turkey, melty cheddar, herb slaw, and stuffing-seasoned potato chips with cranberry jam and gravy mayo on a ciabatta hoagie.

We can also make this one vegan with our housemade vegan turkey and vegan cheddar. 🌱

Hi friends, it is with a heavy heart that we must announce that our time in our current space is coming to an end. The building we are in is being sold and the new owner has other plans for the space. Our last day in our current space will be Wednesday, November 26.

However - this isn't goodbye forever. We are actively looking for a new space to make our home. While we don't have an exact timeline, we are looking for a new space with a larger kitchen so we can bring back some of your favs - housemade chips, fries, and hashbrowns with that tasty fry sauce and, oh yes, the lemongrass tofu.

Starting Tuesday, October 28, our hours will be Tues - Sat, 10am-3pm. Closed Sunday & Monday.

Please come visit us before our winter hibernation. Grab a sandwich or a cookie and thank our team for making some of the best sandwiches in Portland. As our 5-star review from Kacee says, we take great pride in what's slapped between those gluten cheeks. And you should listen to 1-star Ryan, those third-party delivery fees make for an expensive meal, so come visit us in person or order directly from our website, and take advantage of the best pricing!

It has been an honor to serve this community some of Portland's tastiest sandwiches. We'd like to give a heartfelt thanks to all of you, to our current and past staff, and to our vendors for making Better Half what it is today. We hope you'll continue to visit us until our closing day.
