In addition to being a top-tier Isannah Barber, Shae McCarty is also a master meme maker, and has gifted us some Misadventures of Missy Black memes for this snowy Thursday!
Reminder that if you loved the show, there’s still time to get merch and support our cast and crew at the Indiegogo link in our bio. And/or make more memes! We’d enjoy that too!

“At the end of class, I looked around the room,” Nguyen said. “And I was like, ‘Okay, just choose someone.’ So, I went up to Riley and I was like, ‘Hey, you want to get lunch?’ and the rest is history.”
We are so excited about the lovely piece Will Mulligan wrote on us for the University of Portland Beacon!! Read on to hear more about how Riley and Maddie became the sort of friends who run theater companies together, the joys and struggles (mostly joys) of getting this play off the ground, and just how many projects Bennett has going at once.
UP Alumni Stage Pirate Play for Online Theater Festival The COVID-19 pandemic has forced artists to be flexible, and it’s taught them an important lesson: you don’t necessarily need to go into a physical theater to experience a live show, just like you can watch Hollywood movies from your living room couch instead of going to a movie theater.

“Ideally, every festival also ought to have something about a pirate, and if it’s a woman pirate, all the better.” “One good omen: It comes from Do It for Mead Productions, named for the inimitable and lately retired dramaturg, man-about-the-theater, and University of Portland prof Mead Hunter”
A lovely shout-out for us and for our favorite person in ArtsWatch. Check it out!!

"Since the demise of the pirate band Captain Bogg and Salty, Portlanders have had a hook-shaped hole in their hearts. This film of a musical, which was staged at Cafe Delirium in Gresham, chronicles the life and adventures of a young woman who grows up to be a legendary pirate queen in an alternate version of late 18th Century New Haven. Trigger warning: contains sea shanties." Thank you to the Portland Tribune for this lovely feature!!!
