Today was the coolest day in a month! PDX only got to 51°.

⏩️Rainy and breezy tonight!

The rain arrived right on schedule... And we're in for a soggy, breezy night. Many spots will top 1" overnight.

After the front passes, skies turn partly cloudy and we are in a "showers and sunbreaks" routine all day Wednesday. The airmass is cold enough that a rumble of thunder or hail/graupel shower is possible. 🌦️

Tomorrow is one of those days where just about anything could happen within a 10-minute period...

TURNING RAINY TUESDAY

Steady rain begins around Noon tomorrow, lasting throughout the evening. We're tracking a classic mix of sunshine, showers, thunderstorms and/or small hail Wednesday... Typical for spring.

We'll pick up around an inch in the I-5 Corridor. Snow piles up in the Cascades starting Tuesday afternoon.

Whew... Nearly 1000 lightning strikes in 24 hours!⚡️

It was an active night. Forest Grove and Yamhill picked up over an inch of rain.

We have another system arriving today that will bring occasional showers throughout the weekend. There is still some energy available to fuel a few evening thunderstorms... HOWEVER, it’s not as high of a chance as Friday. Watch for a random, “pop-up” storm later today. The best chance is in the foothills and east of the Cascades.

Anyone getting thunderstorms tonight??

⚡️Possible Thunderstorms This Afternoon⚡️

The Storm Prediction Center just upgraded a portion of the I-5 Corridor to a Level 1/5 severe storm threat. This includes Salem, Corvallis, Albany, Molalla, Sweet Home and Eugene (+ surrounding areas).

Watch the skies this afternoon for random, pop-up thunderstorms. NOT EVERYONE WILL GET ONE.

Chance for:
• Lightning
• Downpours
• Small/Medium Hail
• Localized Gusty Wind

If you hear thunder, go indoors for at least 30 minutes.

Shower chances are decreasing this weekend. Plan for a few showers, but it won’t be a washout!
