The 1905

Share

The 1905 is proud to be Portland's only full-time jazz club. It references the year the first Italian pizzeria opened in the United States.

The idea behind The 1905 is to provide a culturally inclusive venue so the community can connect through experience, atmosphere, food, and drink. This is not only significant because of our food fare, but because it’s symbolic of the melding of culture -- what was once an Italian import is now a quintessential part of the American experience. As such, The 1905 celebrates the Portland community as a whole and wants to maintain a safe and inclusive environment for all.

British Soul/R&B artist Stefan Mahendra brings his debut headline US tour to The 1905 for one unforgettable night, celebrating the release of his new EP Home Sweet Home.

Born to a Sri Lankan father and German mother, Stefan Mahendra’s musical journey began at a piano bench in South London, shaped by early classical training under his mother’s guidance. It wasn't long before he was drawn toward jazz, soul and R&B, immersing himself in the music of Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Donny Hathaway and D’Angelo. Their influence runs deeply through Stefan’s music.
