bringing back one of my favorite wildlife images from a couple of years ago — we watched from the shore as this baby seal hauled out onto the exposed rock and proceeded to take a nap in the late afternoon sun. the look of pure contentment in its face gets me every time 🥰

golden hour on the oregon coast 🧡
the entire length of the Oregon coast is gorgeous, but the southern coastline gets so wild, with mile after mile of rugged cliffs and dramatic sea stacks. we camped a few hundred feet from the beach, with stars peeking through the tree canopy and the waves lulling us to sleep, and spent our days hiking to epic viewpoints and walking beautiful beaches. a perfect trip! 🥰

woke up in the clouds, grabbed my camera, and ran down to the lakeshore as they started to clear. watching this inversion made for one of my favorite mornings of the whole summer.
I don’t want to to debate the pros and cons or details of permit systems in place for areas like this — all I will say is having this lake to ourselves was an incredible experience. it doesn’t get better than beauty and solitude in nature (especially with fiancé and pup in tow!) 🥰

spring is here! I figure it’s about time for me to come out of hibernation and start posting again 🤣 this waterfall was a the highlight of a fun little adventure last month - the ice was a nice touch but I’m ready for some spring greens 🌿

Happy Earth Day!
What better day to take a moment and appreciate the natural beauty around us? I feel so incredibly lucky to live in such a beautiful corner of the world, and to have the time and ability to explore it. One of my favorite things about the PNW is the sheer diversity in nature, from mountains to rocky coastlines, mossy waterfalls to alpine lakes, and all the wildlife that inhabits it.
Here’s to another year ahead of exploring and enjoying these natural wonders, and protecting them for generations to come. 🌎
