🎆 Fourth of July is coming! 🎆

Did you know that more dogs go missing around the Fourth of July than almost any other time of year?

Even confident, well-socialized dogs can be startled by unexpected fireworks. If you have a puppy (or an adult dog) who hasn't experienced fireworks before, now is a great time to start preparing.

✅ Play fireworks sounds on your TV, phone, or Bluetooth speaker at a VERY low volume while your puppy is eating, playing, or enjoying treats.

✅ Keep the experience positive and fun.

✅ Gradually increase the volume over the next few weeks, but only if your puppy remains relaxed and comfortable.

✅ Never force your puppy to "face their fears." If they seem nervous, lower the volume and slow down.

✅ Make sure collars, tags, and microchip information are up to date before the holiday.

✅ On July 4th, keep pets safely indoors, provide a quiet area to relax, and consider running a fan, TV, or white noise machine to help mask outside sounds.

Remember, confidence is built through positive experiences and patience. A little preparation now can help make fireworks much less stressful later!
