波特蘭華人服務中心於上周六(1/7/2023)舉辦了一場熱鬧的文藝嘉年華會,現場有許多小遊戲、藝術家駐展、以及音樂演出。心理健康部門也於活動中駐有一攤位,鼓勵大家思考自我照顧的重要性,寫下自己平時做些什麼活動來照顧自己的需求,並且張貼於我們的"自我照顧佈告欄"上,彼此交流想法,互相打氣。

Feeling anxious about the harsh weather this winter?

We all experience stress and feel anxious at one time or another in our daily lives. Do you know that engaging your five senses may help calm your worries?

Grounding techniques are strategies that help connect you in the present moment. They’re essentially a form of mindfulness, which has been shown to help detach from emotional pain and take a break from your negative thoughts.

The 54321 grounding is an easy technique to practice anywhere and anytime to de-stress. Give it a try when you are feeling anxious or worried next time.
