Today, our family gets to breathe again.

Seeing Nong walk through those gates is a moment we will never forget. It happened just before Father’s Day, making this gift even more meaningful.

To every single person who stood with us…THANK YOU. To our incredible attorneys, whose dedication, compassion, and relentless fight gave us hope when we felt hopeless. To the PSU community, our friends, our neighbors, our customers, and the countless people near and far who wrote letters, made calls, shared our story, prayed for us, donated, and believed in Nong when it mattered most, you made this moment possible.

There are simply no words big enough to express our gratitude. You reminded us what community truly means. You carried us through our darkest days, and today, you get to celebrate this victory with us.

While this fight is not over, today is a significant victory for our family. It is a reminder that hope is powerful, that justice is worth fighting for, and that when a community comes together, lives can be changed.

There are a few organizations whose impact can never truly be measured in words. To PIRC, ECO, Seattle Clemency Project, Defend Migrants Alliance, Anakbayan Portland and all of PSU Organizations that fights for all immigrants…thank you will never be enough. You worked tirelessly behind the scenes, pouring your time, expertise, and hearts into this fight. You believed in Nong, advocated for him, and never gave up, even when the road ahead felt impossible. Because of your unwavering commitment, our family gets to share this moment together today. You didn’t just fight a legal battle, you gave our family hope, and you gave Nong the chance to fight from the outside of those gates.

This victory belongs not only to our family, but to every person and organization who stood beside us.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for believing. Thank you for standing with us. Thank you for fighting alongside us.

Welcome home, Nong. ❤️

This right here is a testament to who he is, and I can never thank you all enough. I’m continuing to forward the letters to the lawyers as they come in.

I honestly don’t even have the words. The amount of love, support, letters, messages, emails, and DMs we’ve received for Nong has been overwhelming in the most beautiful way. Over 100 support letters were received from people who took time out of their busy lives to share stories, memories, and support for him, and our family feels every bit of it.

Thank you for loving my brother the way you all do. Thank you for seeing the good in him. I told him I’m going to send him these letters so he can read them himself and truly see how deeply loved and supported he is. Your words will help carry him through this difficult time.

We’re reaching out to ask for your help in supporting Nong while he’s being detained at Tacoma ICE Detention Center.

His legal team has asked us to gather letters of support from people who know him…friends, customers, coworkers, and anyone whose life he’s touched. These letters can make a real difference in helping support his case.

If Nong has ever made you feel welcomed, seen, or cared for, we would be so grateful for your help. We are urgently asking for letters of support for Nong. His legal team will be using them to help show his character, his impact, and what he means to this community.

We understand this takes time, but time is something we don’t have right now. These letters may be used in his immigration case and other legal filings, so the sooner we can gather them, the better.

If Nong has ever made you feel welcomed, seen, or cared for, we would be so grateful for your voice.

Please swipe ➡️ for instructions on the letter and where to submit. I forgot to add his official name … not sure if that makes any difference. His official name is THAVATSAY PHIMMOUNGKHOUN

THANK YOU for continuing to stand by him and our family. 🙏🙏🙏

For the past four years, this cart has been so much more than a place to serve food, it’s where Nong built friendships, shared laughter, and created so many memories with this community.

To everyone at PSU and everyone who stopped by over the years, thank you for being part of his journey. The relationships and moments made here will always mean so much to him and to our family.

We don’t know what the future holds right now, but we’ll continue to share updates here as we can.

Thank you for the love, the support, and for being part of these last four years.

It’s been a week since Nong was detained, and not a day goes by that we don’t feel the love and support from all of you. Sharing a quick update on how he’s doing. Thank you for continuing to stand by him and our family. 💕💕💕💕

Sorry, I get a little emotional when talking about this, but I wanted to come on here and share a quick update, and also take a moment to say thank you.

To everyone who has supported my brother, donated, shared his story, and believed in him, we truly appreciate you. The love our family has received has meant more than we can put into words.

I also want to clarify something. My brother came to this country legally as a refugee, and our family has been here for nearly 40 years. Please don’t come at us about the legality of his residency until you do some research. Just so you’re aware this is the only home he has truly known.

I understand that people may have different opinions, especially right now, but I’m not here to debate or justify anything. I’m simply here to share his story and ask for compassion during this very difficult time for our family.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing with him and with our family. It truly means everything to us.

We’re so grateful for the love, for everyone sharing Nong’s story, and for the news coverage helping bring awareness. On behalf of Nong, I also want to thank you for the donations and support, it truly means so much. It’s clear how truly loved he is in this community. I’ll share more updates soon. Our family is still processing everything. 🥺

It’s incredibly hard for us to share this, but we will be closing the cart permanently.

Our family is going through a very difficult time right now, as my brother has been detained by ICE.

This place was more than just a business to him, it was his home, his passion, and a piece of his soul. It was where he poured his love into every dish, every conversation, and every connection he made with all of you.

To everyone who showed up, supported him, believed in him, and became part of this journey, thank you. Your kindness, your loyalty, and your love meant everything to him.

We don’t know what the future holds right now, but we do know that the memories created here will stay with us forever.

He came here when he was so young that this is the only life he really knows. Now he’s being sent somewhere unfamiliar, where he’ll have to figure everything out all over again. It’s extremely hard for our family seeking help because our whole life we have worked really hard to get to where we are.

As we navigate what comes next, some of his close friends have created a GoFundMe to support him as he prepares to start over in a new and unfamiliar place. If you’re able to contribute or share, it would mean so much to him and our family.

We will share updates as we can. In the meantime, please keep him and our family in your thoughts.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being part of his story. 💕💕💕
