It was a busy weekend. In addition to several local owner surrenders, 1-year-old Wrigley came in from South Korea, and is settling into his adoptive home. Early reports indicate that he is a calm, sweet and gentle boy. We couldn't be happier for him. He's another dog that was rescued from a horrible meat farm experience 😞. That his spirit wasn't broken is a testament to the innate goodness of dogs.

Only good things for you now Wrigley!

Meet 12-year-old Scout (yellow female Lab) and 9 year old Mowglie (male Golden Retriever) who came into the rescue and went to their foster homes this weekend. Stay tuned for updates as we get to know more about them. We''ll find them the best homes for their second chapters!

🐾 TEMPORARY FOSTER NEEDED FOR DOUGY FROM SEPT 26-OCT 26 🐾

Golden Bond named me Kirk Douglas 4264, but my friends call me Doug or Dougy. I'm a Golden Retriever from China, and am estimated to be 8-10 years old. I'm on medication for hip dysplasia and arthritis, but I still love to go on walks. I'm often told how cute and handsome I am. I thrive on human connection, yet respect personal boundaries. I'd flourish in a pet-free home with minimal stairs, where patient hearts can help me overcome my occasional barking. My current fosters have seen tremendous progress, and with your love, I can reach new heights! I walk well on a leash but my foster mom is working with my not reacting to other dogs. I'm told I've made a lot of progress. I travel well in the car and am also fine being left alone at home. I mostly sleep then. My foster mom is also working with me toward getting groomed soon.

Doug's fosters have to travel so we're looking for a temporary foster for about a month - from SEPTEMBER 20 to OCTOBER 26. Doug is in the Portland, OR area.

Quinn and River are our September 2026 calendar dogs!

Quinn and River's owner successfully bid to have them featured in our Calendar at our annual dinner and auction last year. Congratulations to this year's winners who will each have a page dedicated to their dog in our 2027 calendar.

🐾 HAPPY UPDATE: FOSTER HAS BEEN FOUND AND BOOMER WILL BE IN GREAT HANDS!!! 🐾

CALLING ALL LAB LOVERS!

Look at this handsome 16-month-old chocolate Lab! Poor Boomer has been dealt a bad hand; at a very young age, he was diagnosed with severe hip dysplasia, and he's in pain. The good news is that he has recently been seen by a specialist and has been deemed a good candidate for total hip replacement. Golden Bond would really like to get him this surgery, but we need your help. We need a committed foster or foster to adopt to see him through the surgery and recovery.

Boomer is a big (110 pounds!) tall and joyful boy, so he's going to need someone in good physical shape to work with him. He loves other dogs, but he'll do best in a home with a calm dog or no other dog since he will need to be kept quiet immediately after his surgery, plus he should not be playing with other dogs while recovering, Ideally we'd like to keep him in the Portland area so he can get the surgery with the specialist who has seen him.

The owners love him dearly and have been able to keep him while he got neutered, but they are elderly with medical issues and they can no longer physically handle him.

Sometimes life changes occur where an owner can no longer keep their dog. This proved to be the situation for 13-year-old Max, who could no longer negotiate the many stairs in the home where he lived. So Golden Bond volunteers put on their thinking caps and worked hard to find Max an amazing new home.

We're happy to report that Max hit the jackpot with his adopter and is doing very well, and is already quite attached to her.

Thanks to Joshua for helping with transport and to Darline for opening her home to Max. Here's to an incredible second chapter, filled with joy, love, and endless tail wags! 🐾❤️
