I first met Winston (the long haired dachshund) and his human Steve at the dog park several years ago. Steve has since participated in a few shows and gallery events, so I knew he’d love to put Winston in the DOG show! Steve made two identical & reversible wooden sculptures (with feet so they can be displayed free-standing) of Winston rolling by on his skateboard.

Sunny Eckerle’s rendition of her dog Jeff looks like a magazine spot illustration but is over 3 feet tall! Crafted out of foamcore and paint I love how Sunny scaled up her drawing to a life sized sculpture.

I reached out to one of my favorite illustrator/animators .makes to see if he might make a dog. Of course he went all in and made a 4 foot tall poodle. While I was walking my dog one day, I ran into a real life version of this dog and they ended up coming to the gallery - see second photo!

Anna Rogers was the top of my list when I started curating the DOG show. She cuts the shapes out of wood then carefully paints the details. They are all so charming!
And, fun fact, she painted a mural in the gallery bathroom featuring her dogs. So when you visit, be sure to use the loo!

Dog Show closing party - with puppies! Sunday July 26th, 11-3. This will be the last day to view the dog show, which features over 20 Portland area artists. Adoption event and raffle to benefit hosted by . We will have adoptable puppies here to meet and pet. Crystal of will have a fundraiser bake sale with treats for you and your dog. Come one come all! The pieces by and will also contribute to our fundraising efforts for where volunteers.
