Thank you for helping us serve those facing food insecurity. Today was a rainy Portland day. Most people were tucked away trying to stay dry. As we walked by announcing “hot pizza and water friends” dozens of smiling and grateful faces emerged to greet us. 🌱🌊💞

While serving hot pizza provided by we had the pleasure of meeting Dug. Dug is a Veteran. Dug is a Father. Dug is a cancer survivor. Dug is a gunshot survivor. Dug created an award winning business. After divorce, the death of one of his daughters and a fire that turned all of his material possessions to ash, Dug found himself houseless. His statement above reminds us no matter our situation we are all human and deserve to be treated as so.

Tien, one of the sweetest people I’ve met while doing this work, wanted me to convey his deep appreciation. He thank’d me for bringing him the food of course but also expressed his gratitude for the ingredients, the effort in coming up with the recipe, making the food, packaging it, transporting it, finding him and offering a warm meal for nothing in return. This is kindness and should be experienced by everyone.❤️
