John Dourley looking very dapper in the lovely morning sunshine yesterday. Also a gorgeous little Myrtus c. ‘compacta’ in full winter fruit stage. Apparently these little grapelets are edible, though far from palatable.

A couple before and after shots of this NE Roseway project. Patio, patio cover, and planting design are the standouts in this backyard. We finished in October, just in time to test out the new shelter.

As this year begins to sunset, I thought it would be good to update the internet on our latest creations. This one is pretty special. A lovely front yard in Oak Grove with depth AND width! A new parking pad, entry fence and gate with arbor, flagstone pathways (not the mortared path), and lighting were on the wishlist. Layers of planting harmoniously ties it all together into a pleasing composition. Absolutely 💎 of a client 🙏

Year three at this Tabor property. The perennials are really starting to fill out, creating some nice compositions. An example of how good a front yard can look in late summer, when many residential landscapes look well past their prime.

Recent shots from this Tabor garden. Baptisia is stealing the show as it does this time of year. Now in year three, really filing out. Credit to Sue Mitchell for the photos.

Recent shots from our project in Lake Oswego we completed a couple years ago. Is now maintained by our super gardener, (Sue). This backyard possesses a few of our signature design elements: egg-shaped stone patio, stacked stone seat-wall, and layered meadow-style planting design. Thanks to Sue for the great shots!

We love this garden, now in Year 3 of development. The owners are moving closer to home so it will be inherited by a new custodian. We hope they appreciate it as much as we do.

We installed this backyard retreat last spring. Been meaning to post these photos I took earlier this summer. I will be adding this “Story” to the new website in the coming weeks. Oh yeah…gotta new website. More on that another time.

Somehow these didn’t make it on the original post. So the “surrounded by turf” description must have seemed premature. Anyhoo…this is what happens when you don’t gram regularly. But I’m trying! Enjoy

A new hardscape design in Arbor Lodge using Castohn’s Olympic pavers. These look slick especially when surrounded by turf. Uber modern vibe, very clean, but more interesting than typical large slab pavers.
