REalized Gains Podcast
Interviews with local Portland Real Estate Investors.
Shopping looks a lot different today.
Consumers can order clothes online, try them on at home, and return what they don’t want. Sharon and Donna talk about how retail has changed and why Lady Mae Boutique focuses on something that online shopping can’t always provide: personal service, connection, and helping people find something that makes them feel good.
Sometimes the experience matters just as much as the product.
10,000 views doesn’t automatically mean 10,000 customers.
Sharon and Donna talk about social media, branding, and why viral content doesn’t always translate into business. Sometimes content is less about immediate sales and more about building who you are.
For them, it’s more than clothes — it’s being a sister duo, representing the AANHPI community, and building a small business people connect with.
People talk about being your own boss, but they don’t always talk about this part:
You never really clock out.
Sharon and Donna talk about constantly thinking about the business, taking work with you everywhere, and the balance between ambition and stability. Sharon was more willing to jump, while Donna carefully planned everything out. Different approaches, same goal.
And there’s nothing wrong with having a W2 while building something bigger.
They knew what they wanted to do since college: open a retail clothing store.
The hard part wasn’t the idea — it was having the courage to actually do it. Sharon and Donna talk about not feeling fulfilled in their careers and asking themselves the question a lot of people wrestle with: “Should we just go for it?”
Sometimes the biggest risk is staying where you are.
Sometimes people wait for the “perfect time” to start a business, buy a home, or make a big life move. The reality? There usually isn’t one.
In this clip, Sharon and Donna of talk about taking the leap, having the tenacity to keep going, and understanding that not every business idea succeeds — but having the opportunity to try is something worth being grateful for.
Of course you still want to build something successful and profitable, but sometimes progress starts by simply betting on yourself.
Not all content has the same lifespan.
In this clip, breaks down the difference between trending content and evergreen content.
Trending content can get quick views because it’s tied to what’s happening right now—but it can disappear just as fast.
Evergreen content is different. It stays relevant, keeps getting discovered, and can bring in views months or even years later.
The best creators know how to balance both: capitalize on trends while building a library of evergreen content.

If you’re starting YouTube, don’t do it for the money.
In this clip, shares why content has to start with passion—because if you’re only chasing money, it’s hard to stay consistent long enough to win.
His advice? Pick a topic you genuinely care about, because you’re going to spend a lot of time thinking about it, creating around it, and showing up for it.
And don’t let perfectionism stop you.
An 85% video is enough. That last 15% of trying to make it “perfect” will slow you down, burn you out, and keep you from publishing.
Done is better than perfect.
