Thank you Oregon Education Association for their Presidential Citation for 2023 Teacher of the Year!!!

Thank you to the Beaverton School District for inviting me as a keynote and presenter at their Community Partners Equity Summit. It is very important and inspiring, to learn and share with other educators that are passionate about their work with students.

Congratulations Mandy Vance! Welcome to the Toy family. Thank you for your commitment and passion working with students and families.

Thank you to the Department of Education and the Mexican Consulate, to inviting me as a keynote speaker. This was a great event “la 6ta Semana de la Educación” It was a great honor to participate with different Educational Institutions from Mexico, US and Mexican Consulates in the US and Canada.

It was an honor to be a keynote speaker at the North Marion District. I always grateful to connect and share ideas with colleagues from other districts.

Thank you for the recognition as 2023 Oregon Teacher of the Year, during the Hispanic Heritage Month Breakfasts & Summit. I am very honored to represent all the teachers and bring the voice of our students to the community.

Last week my district hosted a community event showing the movie “A Million Miles Away”. We also displayed my space suit to share with the students at my school. Thank you to Ms. Diaz for creating the display.

I am very proud to able to share mi suit from space camp, with the students. We want to motivate and inspire our students in science and learn more about space and Hispanics astronauts. Thank you to our librarian, Ms. Diaz for putting the display together. Also this coming week, our district is going to show the movie of Jose M. Hernandez, a hispanic farm worker children who became an astronaut.

This week I had the incredible opportunity as a Oregon Teacher of the Year, to be part of this experience at the Space Camp (Alabama), along with 55 other state TOY’S.

This team TOY 23 is incredible, we learn about Steam, science, math, we had excellent speakers. They talked about how borders disappear from orbit. It is amazing how space makes a person to feel very small but part of something very big.

I realize how these group has become a family and be there for each other. Is really a true honor to be able to share, collaborate, learn and work with this group of very specials and incredible people. I am very humble for this opportunity!!!!

I had the opportunity to meet with the Secretary of education Dr. Carmona during the NABE conference.
