We would like to respectfully address the false information being shared about the Somali Oregon Service Center.

We are a small, community-based organization that is not fully funded and is largely run by volunteers. We do not have paid staff, and our work is carried out by community members who give their time and energy to serve others.

If anyone has questions or concerns, we welcome facts-based conversations and are always open to providing accurate information. However, spreading false claims or misinformation harms community trust and does not help anyone.

We invite you to reach out to us directly if you would like the facts. Let’s keep our discussions honest, respectful, and grounded in truth.

In proud partnership with Portland Parks & Recreation’s Urban Forestry, we were honored to participate in the first-ever World Forestry Day held at the World Forestry Center!

Our team shared flyers promoting our Free Yard Trees Giveaway Program — an exciting opportunity for community members to green their spaces and grow a healthier Portland.
